simeprevir + escitalopram

Simeprevir is a direct-acting antiviral agent that inhibits the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A protease, thereby preventing viral maturation through inhibition of protein synthesis. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic HCV infection, particularly genotype 1 and 4, in combination with other antivirals such as peginterferon alfa and ribavirin or sofosbuvir. Simeprevir was developed by Janssen and marketed under the brand name Olysio but was withdrawn from the U.S. market in 2018 due to newer agents becoming available[2][4][5][6]. Escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used primarily for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. It acts by selectively inhibiting the serotonin transporter (SERT), increasing synaptic serotonin levels, with high selectivity compared to other SSRIs. Escitalopram is marketed under brand names such as Lexapro and Cipralex[3].
