Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sini powder + suanzaoren decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) combination therapy developed and studied by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of insomnia. This therapeutic approach combines two classic formulas: Sini San (composed of Bupleurum chinense, Citrus aurantium, Paeonia lactiflora, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis) and Suanzaoren Tang (composed of Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Poria cocos, Ligusticum chuanxiong, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis). The combination is particularly indicated for insomnia characterized by liver-qi stagnation and blood deficiency. Pharmacologically, the decoction works through a multi-target mechanism, primarily modulating the GABAergic and serotonergic systems to reduce neuronal excitability and improve sleep quality. Clinical research suggests that this combination can effectively improve sleep latency and duration while reducing anxiety symptoms associated with chronic sleep disorders.
