Overview

This experimental combination regimen is being investigated as an induction therapy for high-risk locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). It consists of the PD-1 inhibitor sintilimab, the anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody bevacizumab, and a chemotherapy backbone of albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) and cisplatin (TP chemotherapy). The regimen is designed to improve outcomes in patients with N2-N3 stage disease, who often show limited benefit from standard chemo-immunotherapy. By combining immune checkpoint inhibition with anti-angiogenic therapy and cytotoxic chemotherapy, the treatment aims to reduce tumor burden and decrease the risk of local recurrence and distant metastasis before definitive chemoradiotherapy.
