In the context of a Phase 4 clinical trial (NCT05636566) led by investigator Zhai Wenlong, one of these agents is administered in conjunction with hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) and targeted therapies (such as lenvatinib, donafenib, or rivoceranib) for patients with postoperative HCC and microvascular invasion. Each of these biologics independently functions by binding to the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2 to restore and enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Sintilimab was developed by Innovent Biologics and Eli Lilly, camrelizumab by Hengrui Pharmaceuticals, and tislelizumab by BeiGene.
