Overview

Cetuximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), inhibiting downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation and survival. The treatment strategy, as investigated by Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital, involves a neoadjuvant phase followed by surgery and adjuvant maintenance to improve outcomes in resectable head and neck cancers.
