Overview

This combination therapy consists of the anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody sintilimab and the modified FOLFIRINOX (mFOLFIRINOX) chemotherapy regimen. Sintilimab is a biologic immunotherapy that targets the PD-1 receptor to enhance the immune system's ability to detect and destroy cancer cells. The mFOLFIRINOX component is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen comprising fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin. This combination is being investigated by researchers at Zhejiang University as a first-line treatment for patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (mPDAC), aiming to leverage the synergistic effects of immune checkpoint inhibition and cytotoxic chemotherapy to improve clinical outcomes in this aggressive malignancy.
