Overview

siRNA (GPR64) refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to silence the expression of the G-protein coupled receptor 64 (GPR64) gene. In the context of oncology research, specifically endometrial cancer, GPR64 has been identified as a potential tumor suppressor. Experimental depletion of GPR64 using siRNA in human endometrial adenocarcinoma cell lines (such as Ishikawa and HEC1A) has been shown to increase cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion. This suggests that GPR64 loss may contribute to cancer progression. The siRNA is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the biological function of GPR64 and its downstream signaling pathways, including the phosphorylation of AMPK and expression of Connexin 43.
