Overview
siRNA (OR13A1) is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) OR13A1. Research presented at AACR 2022 indicates that OR13A1 is highly expressed in B-cell lymphomas, particularly in the germinal center B-cell (GCB) subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Silencing OR13A1 using siRNA or shRNA in lymphoma cell lines has been shown to significantly reduce cell viability and downregulate pERK signaling, suggesting that OR13A1 is essential for lymphoma cell survival and represents a potential therapeutic target. The research was conducted by investigators at the Institute of Oncology Research and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Switzerland, along with Duke University.
