Overview

siRNA (PTP4A3) is a small interfering RNA therapeutic candidate designed to silence the expression of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 4A3 (PTP4A3), also known as PRL-3. PTP4A3 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family that is aberrantly overexpressed in various malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and is associated with poor prognosis. By mediating the degradation of PTP4A3 mRNA, this siRNA inhibits the activation of the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, which is critical for leukemia cell survival and proliferation. Preclinical studies conducted by researchers at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University have shown that PTP4A3 knockdown reduces cell growth and induces apoptosis in AML cell lines and slows tumor growth in vivo.
