A combination of three medications used in transplant patients. Sirolimus (rapamycin) is an mTOR inhibitor immunosuppressant that prevents organ transplant rejection. Mycophenolate mofetil is an inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase inhibitor also used to prevent transplant rejection. Fluvastatin is a statin that lowers cholesterol levels. The combination may be used in renal transplant patients who require both immunosuppression and cholesterol management. Sirolimus and mycophenolate mofetil have complementary immunosuppressive properties, with sirolimus inhibiting mTOR and mycophenolate mofetil acting as an antiproliferative drug by inhibiting inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase.
