Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a **combination of six dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors**: sitagliptin, linagliptin, alogliptin, vildagliptin, saxagliptin, and teneligliptin. Each component is an oral antihyperglycemic agent used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. **DPP-4 inhibitors** increase incretin hormone levels (notably GLP-1 and GIP) by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, thereby increasing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. This results in improved glycemic control. Combination of multiple DPP-4 inhibitors is not a recognized or approved therapeutic practice, as these agents share the same mechanism of action, and no clinical guidelines or products recommend or provide simultaneous administration of more than one DPP-4 inhibitor. The listed agents are individually approved (except vildagliptin and teneligliptin, which have varying regulatory status across regions) for use as monotherapy or in combination with other classes of antidiabetic medications to manage blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes[1][3][5].
