YH14755 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Yuhan Corporation for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus and comorbid dyslipidemia. The combination consists of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor; metformin, a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent; and rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). Sitagliptin works by slowing the inactivation of incretin hormones, which increases insulin release and decreases glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin primarily reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity. Rosuvastatin lowers plasma cholesterol levels by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis and increasing the number of LDL receptors on hepatocytes. This triple-combination product is designed to simplify complex treatment regimens, improve patient adherence, and simultaneously address glycemic control and lipid management in a single daily dosage form.
