Overview
SK08 + PD-1 inhibitor is an investigational combination therapy being developed by Zhiyi Pharmaceutics for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. SK08 is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) based on a specific strain of *Bacteroides fragilis*, representing a next-generation probiotic approach to oncology. This combination therapy aims to leverage the immunomodulatory properties of the gut microbiome to enhance the efficacy of PD-1 (programmed cell death protein 1) checkpoint inhibitors. Non-clinical data has demonstrated that SK08 can sensitize tumors to immunotherapy and improve anti-tumor responses. SK08 was the first LBP in oncology approved for clinical trials by China's NMPA, and the combination is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical studies.
