Overview

SLC-3010 + axitinib is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma. SLC-3010 is a long-acting interleukin-2 (IL-2) cytokine designed to selectively stimulate the proliferation and activation of effector T cells and natural killer (NK) cells while minimizing the activation of regulatory T cells (Tregs). It typically achieves this by biasing signaling toward the intermediate-affinity IL-2 receptor (IL-2Rβγ) and away from the high-affinity receptor (IL-2Rαβγ). Axitinib is a potent and selective small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3), thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis. The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial sponsored by Yonsei University as a second-line treatment for patients with locally advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
