Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sm-TSP-2 + Alhydrogel + GLA-AF is a vaccine formulation being developed for the prevention of schistosomiasis caused by Schistosoma mansoni. It consists of recombinant Schistosoma mansoni Tetraspanin-2 (Sm-TSP-2) adsorbed to Alhydrogel (aluminum hydroxide gel) with the addition of GLA-AF (Glucopyranosylphospho-Lipid A, Aqueous Formulation) as an immunostimulant. The Sm-TSP-2 antigen targets the tegument of S. mansoni, which is critical for the parasite's survival. The vaccine aims to prevent intestinal and hepatic disease by inducing antibody responses against this tegumentary protein.
