Overview

SNS-301 + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination therapy for cancer. SNS-301 is a bacteriophage-based cancer vaccine targeting aspartate β-hydroxylase (ASPH), a tumor-associated antigen frequently expressed in several malignancies. It is intended to promote immunogenicity and increase anti-tumor T-cell responses. Pembrolizumab is a monoclonal antibody programmed death-1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint inhibitor, approved as an anti-cancer drug under the brand name Keytruda. The combination was tested in people with locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic/recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). SNS-301 is given by intradermal injection and pembrolizumab by intravenous infusion. The intent is to combine antigen-specific immune activation (SNS-301) with checkpoint inhibition (pembrolizumab) to enhance anti-tumor immunity[1][2][4].
