Overview

SO-002(ALS)-D is a preclinical-stage small molecule derivative developed by SOICUM for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The drug is designed to target TDP-43 (TAR DNA-binding protein 43), a protein whose pathological aggregation and mislocalization (TDP-43 proteinopathy) are hallmark features of ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. As a derivative of the SO-002 program, it is specifically optimized to address TDP-43-related pathology in ALS, although the specific pharmacological mechanism—such as inhibition of aggregation, promotion of clearance, or restoration of function—has not been publicly detailed. The program is currently in the preclinical phase of development.
