Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eyestil is a brand of ophthalmic solutions developed by SIFI SpA, primarily containing sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) for the treatment of dry eye disease and ocular surface discomfort. Sodium hyaluronate is a naturally occurring polysaccharide with high viscoelasticity and water-binding capacity, which allows it to stabilize the tear film and provide long-lasting lubrication to the corneal and conjunctival epithelium. The product line includes preservative-free formulations (Eyestil PF) and a combination product, Eyestil SYNFO, which incorporates xanthan gum to further enhance the residence time of the solution on the eye. Eyestil is regulated as a medical device in many regions, functioning as an artificial tear to alleviate symptoms such as burning, irritation, and foreign body sensation.
