Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XLHA is an ophthalmic formulation of sodium hyaluronate (0.1% w/v) developed by Sunways India for the treatment of dry eyes, post-operative dry eyes, and corneal burns. Sodium hyaluronate is a viscoelastic polymer and a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan that acts as an ocular lubricant. It works by mimicking the properties of natural tears, increasing the viscosity of the tear film, and forming a protective, moisture-retaining layer over the corneal surface. This provides long-lasting lubrication, reduces friction during blinking, and protects the ocular surface from irritation and environmental factors. Additionally, sodium hyaluronate interacts with cell-surface receptors to promote corneal epithelial cell migration and accelerate wound healing.
