Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Somatropin is a recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) being developed by Gylden Pharma using a proprietary transdermal microneedle patch delivery system. This formulation aims to improve patient adherence and convenience by replacing daily subcutaneous injections with a minimally invasive patch. Somatropin acts as an agonist at the growth hormone receptor (GHR), which induces the synthesis and release of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and promotes linear growth, protein deposition, and lipolysis. Gylden Pharma's somatropin patch is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency (GHD), various growth disorders, and potentially diabetes-related indications, representing a significant advancement in the delivery of large-molecule biologics.
