Overview

Sophora granules are a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation derived from the root of *Sophora flavescens* (Kushen). In oncology, it is primarily utilized as an adjuvant therapy to improve prognosis and reduce adverse reactions to chemotherapy in patients with various malignancies, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The granules are hypothesized to exert anticancer effects by modulating the immune microenvironment, specifically by enhancing the activity of CD8+ T cells, and by inhibiting the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials for its efficacy in post-operative TNBC patients to prolong survival and explore its mechanism of action on human CD8+ and mTOR targets.
