Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of sorafenib (a multi-kinase inhibitor), docetaxel (a cytotoxic chemotherapy agent), and carboplatin (an alkylating agent). The combination has been studied in clinical trials for various cancers. Sorafenib inhibits multiple intracellular and cell surface kinases involved in tumor cell signaling, proliferation, angiogenesis, and apoptosis, including Raf kinases, VEGFR, PDGFR-β, KIT, and FLT-3. Docetaxel and carboplatin are cytotoxic chemotherapy agents commonly used in cancer treatment.
