It causes vasoconstriction, leading to reduced swelling and congestion in nasal passages. - **Morphine** is an opioid analgesic that acts mainly as an agonist at mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system, blocking pain signal transmission and altering pain perception[2][3]. Morphine also has activity at kappa and delta opioid receptors. There are no widely recognized or approved pharmaceutical products combining all three agents (sorbitol, phenylephrine, and morphine) into one formulation. Each component has distinct indications—sorbitol for constipation or use as an excipient; phenylephrine for nasal congestion; morphine for moderate to severe pain.
