The combination of **spartalizumab** (a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting PD-1) and **LCL161** (an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of inhibitor of apoptosis proteins, or IAPs) is an investigational therapy studied for advanced and relapsed/refractory cancers such as multiple myeloma. Spartalizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that blocks PD-1, thereby enhancing T cell-mediated anti-tumor responses. LCL161 acts as a SMAC mimetic, antagonizing IAPs, leading to the induction of apoptosis in tumor cells. This combination aims to synergistically enhance anti-tumor immunity and apoptosis in cancer cells. Both drugs are primarily developed by Novartis.
