Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**SpikoGen** is an intramuscular recombinant protein-subunit vaccine for prevention of COVID-19. It contains a recombinant prefusion-stabilized SARS-CoV-2 spike-protein extracellular-domain trimer produced in insect cells and formulated with the Advax-CpG55.2 adjuvant system, also recorded in clinical trials as Advax-SM. The antigen induces spike-specific neutralizing-antibody and cellular immune responses, while CpG55.2 provides human Toll-like receptor 9 agonism. The vaccine technology originated at Vaxine and was developed, manufactured, and commercialized in collaboration with CinnaGen; it received Iranian marketing authorization for COVID-19 prevention in adults and subsequently in children aged 5 years and older.
