Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Spray 1** is an anonymized, commercially available topical sunscreen spray evaluated in the FDA-sponsored Phase 1 maximal-use absorption study NCT03582215. It is a fixed-dose combination of the organic UV filters avobenzone 3%, homosalate 15%, octisalate 5%, octocrylene 2.35%, and oxybenzone 6%. These small-molecule filters absorb ultraviolet radiation across UVA and UVB wavelengths, reducing UV exposure to the skin and helping prevent sunburn. In the 2019 randomized study in 24 healthy adults, its active ingredients were systemically absorbed after repeated whole-body application, with measured plasma concentrations above the FDA's 0.5 ng/mL threshold; oxybenzone had a reported geometric mean maximum plasma concentration of 209.6 ng/mL.
