SRN-14 + GL2-800 is an experimental combination therapy developed by NanoCarrier Co., Ltd., primarily for the treatment of breast cancer and other solid tumors. The therapeutic component, SRN-14, is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β), a key cytokine involved in tumor progression, immunosuppression, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). The delivery component, GL2-800, is a proprietary glucose-decorated polymeric micelle platform. This delivery system utilizes glucose-ligand technology to target Glucose Transporter 1 (GLUT1), which is highly expressed on the surface of many cancer cells and the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This targeting mechanism facilitates enhanced tumor uptake and enables the siRNA payload to potentially penetrate the central nervous system to treat brain metastases. By inhibiting TGF-β signaling, the drug aims to modulate the tumor microenvironment and suppress metastatic potential.
