Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SS-1 is a traditional Chinese herbal formula developed by China Medical University Hospital for the treatment of Sjögren's syndrome, an autoimmune inflammatory disease. The formulation is a specific combination of three traditional decoctions: Gan-Lu-Yin, Sang-Ju-Yin, and Xuefu-Zhuyu-Decoction, mixed in a 2:1:1 ratio. SS-1 exerts anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and antifibrotic effects. Clinical trial data indicates that the formula modulates immunity-related gene expression and exhibits anti-proliferative activity in B cells. In patients with Sjögren's syndrome, SS-1 has demonstrated significant improvements in tear production as measured by Schirmer's test.
