Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SSS06 is a long-acting recombinant erythropoiesis-stimulating protein (rESP) developed by Shenyang Sunshine Pharmaceutical (3SBio). It is a biologic therapeutic designed to treat anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease, particularly those undergoing hemodialysis. SSS06 is a modified version of erythropoietin, containing 165 amino acids with three additional glycosylation sites engineered to extend its half-life compared to standard epoetin alfa. It acts as an agonist for the erythropoietin receptor, stimulating the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. In clinical trials, SSS06 has been evaluated for maintenance therapy of anemia in hemodialysis patients, demonstrating non-inferiority to standard epoetin alfa treatments.
