Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of "standard treatment" (which typically refers to the established or guideline-recommended care for a given disease, such as supportive care, antibiotics, antivirals, or other symptomatic treatments) plus Xiyanping injection. Xiyanping is a traditional Chinese medicine injection whose main active ingredient is andrographolide sulfonate. It has demonstrated antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating effects. The combination of standard treatment with Xiyanping has been studied in various infectious diseases including community-acquired pneumonia, bronchopneumonia in children, acute tonsillitis (including suppurative forms), COVID-19 (mild to moderate), and others. Clinical studies suggest that adding Xiyanping to standard regimens can improve symptom resolution times (such as fever and cough), reduce hospital stay duration and may enhance overall clinical efficacy compared to standard therapy alone[5][8][10]. The mechanism of action for Xiyanping centers on inhibition of inflammatory mediators and modulation of immune responses.
