Overview

Stanozolol + tranexamic acid is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents, each with distinct mechanisms of action. Stanozolol is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone (DHT), primarily used to treat hereditary angioedema (HAE) by binding to androgen receptors and promoting the synthesis of C1-inhibitor, thereby reducing the frequency and severity of angioedema attacks[2][5][10]. Tranexamic acid is an antifibrinolytic agent that inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, preventing fibrin degradation and stabilizing blood clots. It is used for controlling or preventing excessive bleeding in various clinical settings, including menorrhagia and hereditary angioedema[4][6][7][8]. The combination may be considered in rare cases where both reduction in swelling episodes (via stanozolol) and control of bleeding or prevention of fibrinolysis (via tranexamic acid) are desired.
