Overview

STIA-1002 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceutical that targets thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). TSLP is a key upstream cytokine produced by epithelial cells in response to environmental triggers, and it plays a central role in the initiation and persistence of type 2 (Th2) inflammation. By binding to TSLP and preventing its interaction with the TSLP receptor complex, STIA-1002 suppresses the activation of dendritic cells and the subsequent release of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD). Interestingly, Staidson's pipeline also identifies STIA-1002 as a candidate for AHC (Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood) related diseases, a rare neurological condition, which may reflect an investigation into the role of TSLP in neuroinflammatory pathways or a multi-indication strategy for the candidate.
