Drug intelligence / Profile preview
StimuBlast + platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a combination therapeutic approach used to enhance bone-to-tendon healing in orthopedic procedures, specifically Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction. StimuBlast is a commercially available demineralized bone matrix (DBM) that serves as an osteoconductive scaffold and contains endogenous bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) that provide osteoinductive signals for bone formation. PRP is an autologous concentration of platelets derived from the patient's own blood, which, upon activation, releases a cocktail of growth factors including PDGF, TGF-β, and VEGF. In the context of ACL surgery, this "Osteoinductive/Osteoconductive Compound" (OOC) is injected or applied to the bone tunnels to accelerate graft maturation and integration, aiming to improve clinical outcomes and support accelerated rehabilitation protocols.
