Drug intelligence / Profile preview
STX-S + N is a bivalent mRNA vaccine candidate developed by Stemirna Therapeutics for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine is designed to encode both the Spike (S) protein and the Nucleocapsid (N) protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. By targeting both proteins, the vaccine aims to elicit a broader and more robust immune response, including both neutralizing antibodies against the Spike protein and T-cell responses against the more conserved Nucleocapsid protein. This dual-antigen approach is intended to provide enhanced protection against emerging variants of the virus that may harbor mutations in the Spike protein. The vaccine utilizes Stemirna's proprietary lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery system to transport the mRNA into host cells, where it is translated into the viral antigens to stimulate the immune system.
