Gelofusine balanced + Sterofundin ISO is a fluid resuscitation and maintenance regimen developed by B. Braun. Gelofusine balanced is a 4% succinylated gelatin (modified fluid gelatin) solution in a balanced electrolyte carrier, used as a colloidal plasma volume substitute to treat or prevent absolute and relative hypovolemia. Sterofundin ISO (also known as Ringerfundin) is an isotonic, balanced crystalloid solution containing sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, acetate, and malate. The combination is designed to provide effective volume expansion through the colloid component while maintaining physiological electrolyte levels and acid-base balance through the balanced crystalloid component, specifically avoiding the hyperchloremic acidosis associated with non-balanced solutions like 0.9% saline.
