Bromhexine hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent that reduces the viscosity of mucus secretions in the respiratory tract, facilitating the clearance of airways. The combination is approved and marketed in Spain for the treatment of respiratory tract infections where both antimicrobial and mucolytic actions are required, such as acute bronchitis and other bacterial respiratory infections.
