This is a combination of two agents, sulfur hexafluoride and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). Sulfur hexafluoride is an inert gas commonly used as a contrast agent in ultrasound imaging. Tissue plasminogen activator is a serine protease enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, the major enzyme responsible for clot breakdown. tPA is used clinically as a thrombolytic drug to dissolve blood clots in conditions such as acute ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and massive pulmonary embolism[2][3][4]. The combination may be under investigation for enhanced thrombolysis or targeted delivery applications; however, there are no approved pharmaceutical products combining these two agents.
