sumatriptan + naproxen sodium

Sumatriptan + naproxen sodium is a fixed-dose combination oral medication used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older. It combines two active ingredients: - Sumatriptan, a selective serotonin (5-HT) 1b/1d receptor agonist (triptan), which works by causing vasoconstriction of cranial blood vessels and inhibiting pro-inflammatory neuropeptide release. - Naproxen sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) from the arylacetic acid group, which reduces inflammation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes involved in prostaglandin synthesis. The combination provides greater initial and sustained pain relief compared to either agent alone. It is not indicated for migraine prevention or cluster headaches[1][3][6][8].
