Sunitinib + paclitaxel is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used in oncology clinical trials. Sunitinib is an oral small-molecule multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) inhibitor that blocks several RTKs involved in tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastatic progression, including platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs), vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs), KIT, FLT3, RET, and CSF-1R. Paclitaxel is a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules and inhibits cell division. The combination has been investigated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors such as metastatic breast cancer and angiosarcoma. Preclinical studies suggest enhanced anti-tumor activity through both antiangiogenic effects from sunitinib and cytotoxicity from paclitaxel[1][2][3].
