sunitinib + temozolomide

A combination therapy consisting of sunitinib, a multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor with anti-angiogenic properties, and temozolomide, an alkylating agent. This combination has been investigated primarily for the treatment of gliomas, including glioblastoma multiforme. The combination works through sunitinib's inhibition of VEGFR, PDGFR, and KIT receptors to reduce tumor angiogenesis, while temozolomide damages DNA through alkylation, leading to cell death. Studies have shown that simultaneous administration yields better tumor control than sequential treatment or monotherapy with either agent.
