Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Suvemcitug + paclitaxel is a combination therapy consisting of suvemcitug (brand name Enzeshu), a recombinant humanized anti-VEGF rabbit monoclonal antibody, and paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing taxane chemotherapy. Suvemcitug selectively binds to multiple isoforms of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), including VEGF121, VEGF165, VEGF164, and VEGF189, thereby blocking their interaction with VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 to inhibit tumor angiogenesis and growth. Paclitaxel is a cytotoxic small molecule that binds to the beta subunit of tubulin, promoting microtubule assembly and stabilizing them against depolymerization, which disrupts mitotic spindle dynamics and induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This combination is approved in China for the treatment of adult patients with recurrent platinum-resistant ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who have received no more than one prior line of systemic therapy.
