Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVF + PRP is an autologous biological combination therapy developed by Bioheart, Inc. (now U.S. Stem Cell, Inc.) for the treatment of osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. The therapy consists of a stromal vascular fraction (SVF) isolated from the patient's own adipose tissue via a mini-lipoaspirate procedure, which is then resuspended in autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained from peripheral blood. The SVF provides a heterogeneous population of cells, including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), while the PRP provides a concentrated source of growth factors. This combination is administered via intra-articular injection to promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and improve joint function in patients with grade 1 and 2 osteoarthritis.
