The combination of a personalized neoantigen mRNA vaccine (SW-H-201) and sintilimab is an investigational immunotherapy regimen being evaluated for the adjuvant treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The vaccine component is custom-designed for each patient, encoding unique neoantigens identified through genomic sequencing of the individual's tumor to trigger a specific T-cell response. Sintilimab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to prevent the tumor from suppressing the immune system. By combining these two agents, the therapy aims to both prime the immune system against specific tumor targets and sustain that immune activity by blocking inhibitory signals, thereby reducing the risk of postoperative recurrence in HCC patients.
