Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SYS6090 + etoposide + platinum-based chemotherapy is an investigational combination regimen being developed by Shanghai JMT-Bio Inc. (a subsidiary of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group) for the treatment of advanced lung cancers, particularly small cell lung cancer (SCLC). SYS6090 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. Etoposide is a cytotoxic chemotherapy agent that inhibits DNA topoisomerase II, leading to DNA strand breaks and cell cycle arrest. The platinum-based component, typically cisplatin or carboplatin, acts as a DNA alkylating-like agent that forms inter- and intra-strand crosslinks, further inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This chemo-immunotherapy approach is currently being evaluated in a Phase Ib/II clinical trial (NCT07472647) to assess its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in patients with advanced lung malignancies.
