**Systane Complete** is an Alcon over-the-counter ophthalmic lubricant artificial-tear nanoemulsion developed for temporary relief of dry-eye symptoms across aqueous-deficient, evaporative, and mixed dry eye. Its active demulcent is propylene glycol, supported by hydroxypropyl guar and nano-sized lipid droplets, including dimyristoyl phosphatidylglycerol, which physically lubricate the ocular surface, improve tear-film coverage, and reduce tear evaporation. University of Alabama at Birmingham studies evaluated off-label application around or directly onto soft daily disposable contact lenses and found improved contact-lens comfort and dryness symptoms without reported treatment-related safety concerns.
