Overview

TACE + camrelizumab + apatinib mesylate is a combination therapy used primarily in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), especially for patients with unresectable or resectable disease. The regimen consists of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), an interventional radiology procedure that delivers chemotherapy directly to liver tumors while blocking their blood supply; camrelizumab, a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1); and apatinib mesylate, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2). This combination leverages local tumor control from TACE, immune activation from PD-1 blockade by camrelizumab, and antiangiogenic effects from VEGFR2 inhibition by apatinib. Clinical studies have shown this triple therapy improves progression-free survival and overall response rates compared to standard treatments in HCC[1][3][5]. Camrelizumab is developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine, while apatinib was also developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine.
