Drug intelligence / Profile preview
tamsulosin + dutasteride + nano-water is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The regimen consists of tamsulosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urinary flow; dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to reduce prostate size; and nano-water (marketed as Magnalife), a dietary supplement hypothesized to enhance the clinical outcomes of the pharmacological treatment. This specific combination is the subject of a Phase 2 clinical trial led by investigator Ali Kamal M. Sami to determine if the addition of nano-water provides superior symptom relief compared to standard medication alone.
