This is an investigational **combination regimen** for cancer, in which **tarextumab**, a fully human IgG2 monoclonal antibody targeting Notch2 and Notch3 receptors, is combined with the standard chemotherapeutic agents **etoposide** and a platinum agent (**cisplatin** or **carboplatin**)[2][3][7]. Etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor that interferes with DNA synthesis and repair, and both cisplatin and carboplatin are platinum-based agents causing DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. This combination, specifically studied in small cell lung cancer (SCLC), is given intravenously. The regimen was explored in clinical trials (notably the PINNACLE trial) for patients with untreated extensive-stage SCLC and evaluated for safety, tolerability, maximum tolerated dose, and preliminary efficacy[3][7].
