Tat-E7 + pGM-CSF nanoparticle vaccine is an experimental peptide-DNA self-assembled nanoparticle vaccine designed for the treatment and prevention of HPV16-associated cervical cancer. Developed by researchers at the Third Military Medical University, the vaccine consists of a cationic fusion peptide—comprising the HIV-1 Tat(49-57) cell-penetrating peptide and the HPV16 E7(49-57) cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitope—complexed with a plasmid encoding granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (pGM-CSF). These components self-assemble into nanoparticles ranging from 20 to 80 nm in diameter. The vaccine functions by delivering the E7 antigen and the GM-CSF adjuvant to antigen-presenting cells, thereby eliciting a potent CD8+ memory T cell response. In preclinical studies, it has demonstrated significant anti-tumor activity, including decreased tumor growth and improved survival in mouse models of cervical cancer.
