Tcm + goserelin acetate + abiraterone acetate is an experimental combination therapy being evaluated by the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, including metastatic hormone-sensitive and castration-resistant forms. This multi-modal regimen integrates adoptive cell therapy with conventional androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and next-generation hormonal agents. The cellular component consists of autologous central memory T cells (Tcm), which are a subset of T cells characterized by high proliferative capacity and long-term persistence, intended to provide a sustained anti-tumor immune response. Goserelin acetate is a synthetic decapeptide analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) that acts as an agonist at the GnRH receptor; chronic administration leads to pituitary desensitization and a profound reduction in serum testosterone. Abiraterone acetate is a small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme CYP17A1 (17α-hydroxylase/C17,20-lyase), which is essential for androgen biosynthesis in the testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumor tissues. Prednisone is typically co-administered with abiraterone to manage mineralocorticoid excess resulting from CYP17 inhibition.
